Hi, ich bin Jen.

Ich weiß, wie sich das anfühlt, vor einer Kamera zu stehen und nicht zu wissen, wohin mit den Händen, dem Blick, dem ganzen Körper. Dieses Gefühl kenne ich. Und genau deshalb mache ich das, was ich tue.

Ich war schon als Kind kreativ, habe fotografiert und gezeichnet. Die Kamera und der Stift waren immer dabei, lange bevor daraus ein Beruf wurde. Die Fotografie blieb das Zentrum. Ich habe mit Olympus zusammengearbeitet und mich intensiv mit Lightpainting beschäftigt. Daraus wurde irgendwann mein erster richtiger Job als Fotografin und Künstlerin.

Meine Arbeit beginnt nicht, wenn ich auf den Auslöser drücke. Sie beginnt in dem Moment, in dem du dich zum ersten Mal wohlfühlst. Wir machen das gemeinsam, in deinem Tempo, mit deiner Geschichte.

Heute fotografiere ich Menschen in Hamburg. Mit der gleichen Neugier wie als Kind, nur mit deutlich mehr Erfahrung in Sachen Licht, Farbe und Menschen.

Hi, I'm Jen.

I know what it feels like standing in front of a camera, not knowing what to do with your hands, your eyes, your whole self. I know that feeling. And that's exactly why I do what I do.

I've been photographing and drawing since I was a child, pretty much side by side. The camera and the pencil were always there, long before any of it became a career. Photography stayed at the centre. I worked with Olympus and spent years deep in lightpainting. At some point, that turned into my first real job as a photographer and artist.

My work doesn't start when I press the shutter. It starts the moment you feel at ease for the first time. We do this together, at your pace, with your own story.

Today I photograph people in Hamburg. With the same curiosity I had as a kid, just with a lot more experience in light, colour, and people.
